As in all businesses, there have been a lot of Internet
business failures. There are several reasons for such failures.
In this article I will cover a few.
The first reason is that
the Internet has made it possible for almost anyone to start
his or her own business. There are really no rules or
regulations on who can conduct business on the Internet. This
is a good and bad thing, and I could write several articles
on that subject alone.
Allowing anyone to start a business, you
allow individuals to become involved who have never been in
business before, and do not realize just how hard it is to build
a successful business.
Only about five percent of the people
who try their hand in business succeed, and this will be the
same with the Internet Business, maybe even worse, due to the
fact it’s a whole new ball game. In order to make your Internet
business successful you will have to work hard. Just like
anything you have achieved success in before.
Lets think about what I just said a minute. What is the
most successful thing you have ever done in your entire life.
The number one thing. Was it a marriage or a relationship? Was it
a job or some constructive hobby you did? Was it being a
parent? Any of these things take a lot of commitment, time,
sweat, and sometimes tears. That is the way you have to treat
your business. And if you are not willing to give the same time
and feelings to your business, DO NOT START A BUSINESS.
PERIOD.
The reason is because you will fall into that other 95% who
fail. And if you are in a business right now then stop. Go find
something else to do with your time that you can commit to,
enjoy, and be successful at.
Look around you. Who are the most
SUCCESSFUL business people you know. Are you willing to spend
the kind of time at your business as they do in theirs? Or do
you think they are crazy to spend so much time banging around
in business... wasting time when they could be doing other things
that could be a lot more fun.
I have friends, even family
members, who tell me I am crazy to spend so much of my time
building my business. I don’t have to tell you they do not have
a business. And that is fine, we were not all meant to be the
same. Thank God for that. I am just trying to explain to you
why you may not have achieved the kind of success that you have
dreamed about. And one reason you see so many fail around you.
In this business of yours, you will have to work on it
every day. And if your saying, I don’t have something to do in
my business every day, then I would tell you something is wrong
and you need to go out and create something for you to do.
There is always marketing work to do. If you have nothing to do,
then market your business EVERY DAY. And yes every day
means just that. SEVEN DAYS A WEEK.
You will dream about your business. Your mind will never stop
turning with new ideas and new ways to do something better and
more profitable. And guess what? You will still be dreaming up
these new ideas until the day you quit. And quit means quit business, or
living... that is the way you have a productive
business and life. You never stop trying to improve and get
better.
There is no end to the thousand of ways you can build and
manage your business on this wonderful invention, the computer.
When you combine it with the Internet, there is a whole
world waiting for you. The business world has NEVER and I mean
NEVER been running so fast and as exciting as it is right now.
If you are willing to give the time and commitment, you to can
have that successful business that you dream about. Believe me,
it is worth it. I guess I better close for know my wife is
complaining about me spending too much time in my office.
Hmmm…. Sounds kind of like something I wrote about one time. I
guess I better go spend some time on my marriage business.
Best regards to all, Lyle Diehl
